After nearly five years, our beloved team member, Cooper Shubert, is off to his next adventure. He will be deeply missed by our team and our clients. We look forward to introducing his replacement soon!
After almost a decade in finance, and many more years in customer service, I’ve learned that the client experience is my number one priority and the joy of my day. My high standards for client care and commitment to client service is a great match for the philosophy at Align Financial.
My responsibilities at Align Financial include running the day to day operations of the office, constantly searching out ways to make our firm more efficient and continuing to improve our many processes, managing all things calendar to make sure we’re meeting all of our commitments to our clients; and most importantly to serve as the first point of contact for many of our private clients and prospective clients as they engage with our office.
I started my career in finance as a broker for the TD Ameritrade call center in my hometown of Omaha, NE. I quickly progressed in my career during my time at TD Ameritrade, moving to a behind the scenes role in compliance and supervision, being one of the few to oversee client escalations and in-depth research and resolution for the TD Ameritrade brick and mortar offices on the East Coast. This experience has helped me better understand what happens on the other side of investments.
In 2017, after my husband Dane completed his PhD in sociology at University of Nebraska Lincoln, we moved to Duluth so he could continue his work he started at University of Minnesota Duluth during his undergrad career. While we originally planned to be in Duluth for just a quick few years, we have decided to make Duluth our home now that we have both found careers in Duluth that we are passionate about, serving our private clients at Align Financial for me and research for the Johns Hopkins Great Lakes Hub Center for Native American Health for Dane.
Outside of the office, you’ll find me in the kitchen baking my way through my favorite baking cookbooks, allowing me to share my love of baked goods with those I love (much to their waistlines dismay). When I am not baking, I enjoy spending my time with our dogs, getting enthralled in a new book or tending to my ever-growing collection of houseplants.
When we’re able to enjoy the weather of Duluth and the North Shore, you’ll find us looking for our next favorite hike or brewery patio. Now that I consider myself a Duluthian, I am always excited to find the next best thing to get us out of the house and enjoying the beautiful area we live in.
